Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced that the MidSouth Development District will receive a $19,662,581 Port Infrastructure Development grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to redevelop a dormant grain facility at the International Port of Memphis into an active cementitious material terminal.
“This major investment in redeveloping part of our port facilities will result in both construction and permanent jobs and boost our local economy,” said Rep. Cohen.
The project will include the construction of a pneumatic barge unloading system, a storage facility, and a system for transferring material to trucks.
